CURE Mentor Training Series - Spring 2022
*Please note: the Mentor Training Series workshops are highly interactive and engaging. Please be prepared to participate in the discussions and turn your cameras on when possible*
We will be joined by Monique Cooper, Assistant Vice Provost for Academic and Career Advising Academic Support Services at UMass Boston, who will lead us through a session on community cultural wealth.
- By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Engage in an intentional process of self-reflection to raise awareness of our
social identities, lived experiences, biases and how it impacts the mentoring relationship
- Improve and expand understanding of the community cultural wealth (CCW) framework, and how it can be used to enhance mentoring relationship from a culturally response lens
- Explore ways to recognize how we enact unconscious/implicit assumptions, preconceptions, biases, and prejudices in our thoughts and behaviors
