Mentor Training Program for Postdocs and Grad Students
**[REGISTRATION](https://dfhcc-hms-mentoring3.eventbrite.com)**

Learn and practice strategies for fostering equity and inclusion in scientific research environments and mentoring diverse trainees. Good science requires many hands. Most, if not all, principal investigators rely on their research groups to accomplish their projects. However, most scientists receive little to no management training. How do aspiring research leaders learn to engage and supervise other people in their work? How will YOU learn these skills?
This spring, the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the HMS/HSDM Office of Postdoctoral Fellows will again provide evidence-based training for mentors working with undergraduates and high school students on short-term research projects across the DF/HCC community. *Participants are encouraged, but not required, to commit to attending all four sessions.* Registration is required.
Participants will have the opportunity to sign up to be DF/HCC Student Program Mentors during Summer 2019

The four-part curriculum will provide leadership training in the following areas:
**Feb 7 Introduction to Mentoring and Aligning Expectations
Mar 7 Maintaining Effective Communication and Assessing Understanding
Apr 4 Addressing Equity and Inclusion and Mentoring Diverse Trainees
May 9 Short-term Research Project Design and Implementation**

Participants are encouraged, but not required, to commit to attending all four sessions.

*Sponsored by the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows*
