Commentaries, op-eds and editorials written by those on the frontlines of biomedicine play a critical role in elevating the public understanding of science and medicine. As physicians-in-training and scientists-in-the making, you have the power to educate, inform and inspire lay audiences, policy makers and other influencers. If you have an interest in expressing your views through op-eds, perspective articles and letters to the editor, this session will provide you with valuable tips and insights. We invite you to a one-hour workshop with *STAT*’s opinion page editor, [Patrick Skerrett](https://www.statnews.com/category/first-opinion/), who will discuss best practices in opinion writing.
