**Session 1: Understanding the academic job market (Zoom)**

**Description:**
This session provides postdoctoral scholars with a clear roadmap for navigating the faculty job market. Participants will learn how the search process works, what hiring committees prioritize, and how expectations differ across institution types from research-intensive universities (R1) to primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs) and state colleges. Through interactive discussion and self-assessment activities, attendees will begin aligning their strengths with institutional missions and prepare for crafting application materials.
