Description: Writing a manuscript for journal publication is a daunting task. Because language matters, using correct grammar, appropriate vocabulary, and complex sentence structures can be mystifying. Many postdoctoral fellows recognize that this kind of writing can also be an isolating activity and that finding motivation can sometimes be difficult. To counteract these hurdles, the HMS Office of Postdoctoral Fellows is offering a modified online writing lab to help you make progress on your research manuscript with the support of a professional writing consultant. Due to the intercative nature of faciltated writing, we are offering one hour online coaching sessions.

This writing lab is limited to 10 Quad-based postdoctoral fellows who are currently writing a manuscript (this is an absolute requirement), application submission does not guarantee participation.

This opportunity provides a dedicated time and access to a facilitator with writing expertise. The goal is to help you become better writers. Instead of simply producing better papers, the aim is to begin the process of critically evaluating and refining your own writing.

Once selected, participants should plan to arrange a coaching session, and you will need to download and use the Zoom application in order to meet with the writing instructor.
