# I am paid on a Fellowship, how do I pay / prepare taxes?

Contact the [Harvard Tax Services Office](http://oc.finance.harvard.edu/services/taxes) for information regarding the tax obligations of postdocs working at Harvard.

Foreign nationals can find out more about their tax status, exemptions and obligations on the [HIO website](http://www.hio.harvard.edu/taxes-social-security).

[The National Postdoctoral Association](http://www.nationalpostdoc.org/) has a helpful [overview](http://www.nationalpostdoc.org/?page=TaxIssues) on tax obligations for postdocs.
Most people will use their final pay stub from [PeopleSoft](https://hrapps.cadm.harvard.edu/psp/psftprd/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG), at the end of the calendar year, for starting to determine their [gross income](http://www.fool.com/knowledge-center/gross-income-vs-federal-taxable-income.aspx) for the year.

*Please note: Harvard as an institution does not advise on any personal income tax requirements or issues. Nor can Harvard advise on any individual tax preparation questions.*
