DESCRIPTION:<p>	<strong><a data-url="https://harvard-mentor1-2020.eventbrite.com/" href="https://harvard-mentor1-2020.eventbrite.com/" target="_blank" title="">REGISTRATION</a></strong></p><p>	Description: Are you mentoring or planning to mentor an undergraduate in the laboratory or field? The FAS Science Education Office offers a series of workshops for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and other researchers who mentor or seek to mentor undergraduate researchers.<br>Lunch will be provided.</p><p>	Part I (1.23.20): The first part of this workshop will focus on undergraduate fellowship applications (including summer programs) and recommendation letters. By participating in this workshop, you will learn which fellowships are available to Harvard undergraduates to support their undergraduate research. Through a discussion of case studies, you will examine the role of the mentor in the application process, and how to write descriptive and accurate letters of recommendation.</p><p>	<a data-url="https://postdoc.hms.harvard.edu/event/mentoring-science-designing-undergrad-research-projects-31320?admin_panel=1" href="internal:/event/mentoring-science-designing-undergrad-research-projects-31320?admin_panel=1" target="_blank" title="">Part II (3.13.20)</a>: The second part of the mentoring workshop focuses on developing undergraduate research projects. Mentoring an undergraduate can be both rewarding and challenging. In this workshop, you will learn how to design undergraduate-friendly research projects, set appropriate expectations, and foster effective communication.
