Eligibility for postdoc discount is limited to Research Fellows whose primary appointment is in a Quad-based Department of HMS (Quad-postdocs).
Postdocs whose primary appointment is at one of the hospitals are not eligible for the discount at any HMS dining facilities.
How do postdocs receive a discount? The program includes all HMS, HSDM, and Harvard Chan School* students and postdocs.
Beginning on September 6, 2022 a sticker on your HUID will be required to receive the discount at all HMS dining facilities.
Please check with your department adminstrator - they are tasked with handing out the discount stickers for all postdocs in the department. Sticker should be placed on the HUID.
*For Sebastian's Cafe in the Harvard Chan School Kresge Building: All you need to do is inform the HSPH cashier that you are a student or postdoc, and regardless of the payment method, you will receive the discount. Sticker not required to receive discount at Sebastian's in the Kresge Building.
HMS Quad-based and Hospital-based Postdocs are automatically added to our email list via the individual HR departments.
For new arrivals: Please allow 2-3 weeks for your email to be added to the list as it is only uploaded once a week.
If you are not receiving our emails you may not have an email, or have an incorrect email, entered in the HMS system.
Please follow steps below to add your email:
1. Login to PeopleSoft using Harvard Key: https://peoplesoft.harvard.edu
2. Navigate to:
a My Personal Details
b Contact Details
c In the “Email” section, choose Email Address Type: Harvard Medical School and on the following screen add your current institutional email address.
d The “preferred” checkbox does not actually do anything so you can ignore it.
3. Allow up to 7 business days for the change to be uploaded into our list-serve.
4. If you still do not receive our emails after that then contact IT Help Desk at 617-432-2000 (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM) to open a ticket

Most people will use their final pay stub from PeopleSoft, at the end of the calendar year, for starting to determine their gross income for the year.
