HMS Postdoc Recruitment Program (2019)
Harvard Medical School Postdoc Recruitment Program
Recruitment Event: April 5, 2019Application Deadline EXTENDED: March 21, 2019
The Postdoc Recruitment Program is a pilot program to recruit selected late-stage graduate students from diverse backgrounds to come to Harvard Medical School (HMS) for an inside scoop on postdoctoral training at HMS and to interview with potential mentors. Our goal is to match excellent trainees to excellent mentors at HMS. This opportunity is open to all. We are encouraging those underrepresented in science, including but not limited to African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, or those with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds, to apply. This year we are working with the annual NESS conference. The NEW applicant deadline will be Thursday, March 21, 2019.
APPLY HERE NOW until Thursday, March 21, 2019 @ 11:59pm. All applicants are required to submit a Statement of Interest (similar to a Cover Letter, describing your experience, research area, publication record, and interest in joining a lab at HMS) and current CV for the online application. In addition, participants must separately submit a Letter of Recommendation from their Graduate/PhD mentor to postdoc_office@hms.harvard.edu by March 22, 2019.
Application completion does not guarantee your participation in the recruitment program. You will receive an email notification of your status by Friday, March 22. If selected, you will be required to be in Boston, on the HMS Longwood Campus on Friday, April 5, 2019 from ~9am-5pm. Selection for recruitment and interviews depends on Faculty interest and funding; participation does not guarantee a postdoctoral appointment. Financial assistance may be available for required additional hotel stay.
Potential HMS postdoc positions can be reviewed HERE (postings are currently being updated).
This program is supported by the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows, the Office for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership, and the Office of the Dean of Research Operations and Global Programs.
