Introduction to Mentoring: Scientific Identity and Sense of Belonging*
Session Description: This first session* invites workshop participants to reflect on the many roles of mentors and impact of mentorship.  Specifically, we will discuss the importance of scientific identity and sense of belonging in early-stage trainees and how to foster a welcoming research environment.
*This session is required to obtain a certificate of completion for the mentor series.

Series Description: The Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center CURE Program and UMass Boston Research Education Core Program, in collaboration with the HMS/HSDM Office of Postdoctoral Fellows, are offering a series of mentor training workshops focused on mentorship development and shared practice for current, past, and prospective mentors. Our sessions are founded on evidence-based curriculum published by CIMER as well as our own 20-year experience in the space of student training.

- Effective Communication
- Inclusive Mentoring
