HMS/HSDM Buildings

Welcome

On behalf of the staff of the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows, welcome to our website!

Our Mission

The HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows works to enhance the development and experience of the postdoctoral community by recognizing the valuable contributions of postdoctoral scholars, developing a firm foundation on which to build a comprehensive training and career development experience, encouraging individual responsibility, fostering mentoring and cultivating a sense of community.

Through a combination of administrative initiatives and educational activities, the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows actively assists postdoctoral fellows in obtaining the skills necessary to pursue both academic and non-traditional careers in science and beyond. By supplementing the training received in the laboratory with career development guidance and ancillary research skills instruction, the office seeks to maintain the institutional reputation of recruiting and training the best biomedical researchers and scientific leaders of tomorrow.

Check Out the Wiki

The new postdoc wiki is a collaborative website for postdocs to add, maintain, and edit content of interest to the postdoc community. It is a great venue for postdocs to make connections, share information, post jobs and events, and find out about research techniques and collaborators. This is your space - so edit away! Open to any postdocs with an eCommons ID.

Postdoc Movie Night

Grab a labmate, friend, or date and join us for Postdoc Movie Night! Each month we feature a newly released-to-DVD film across a wide range of popular movie genres. Come, relax, and enjoy some freshly-popped popcorn, beer, and soda.

May 29, 2008 | 7:00pm | Cannon Room, Building C, HMS Quad

This month's featured film is "JUNO"
Facing an unplanned pregnancy, teenage Juno (Ellen Page) devises a plan to locate the proverbial perfect parents to adopt her baby. But the seemingly ideal couple Juno chooses still has some growing up to do. Now, everyone in Juno's world must do a little soul-searching. Michael Cera co-stars while Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner play the pair of affluent yuppies anxious for a child in this offbeat coming-of-age comedy, which won the 2008 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
