Workshop Description: Becoming a leadercultivating leadership skills for career success
This seminar focuses on cultivating leadership skills during graduate school or a postdoctoral program. Tangible examples will be provided on how to build leadership, management, presentation, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills while performing research. In addition, insights will be provided for how to build these skills through involvement with student clubs, academic groups, industry organizations, nonprofit organizations, and networking groups. Leadership ability is tremendously valuable as you build your career and is sought after by employers.
Speaker Bio: Lauren Celano is the co-founder and CEO of Propel Careers, a life science search and career development firm focused on connecting talented individuals with entrepreneurial life sciences companies.  Propel works with current leaders and actively cultivates future leaders through full time placement, internships, mentoring, career coaching, and networking.  Propel Careers is engaged  across all areas of life sciences, including therapeutics, medical devices, healthcare IT, diagnostics, consulting, venture capital, and investment banking.
