CURE Mentor Training: Aligning Expectations with Research Mentees (4.23.20)
Date and Time
Location
Mentor Training Program for Postdocs and Grad Students
Description: While new mentoring relationships and research experiences are exciting for both mentors and mentees, differing expectations can cause tension and stress in the mentoring relationship. In this workshop, participants will discuss how and why misalignment of expectations occurs with mentees and how they can better communicate their own expectations to their mentees.
Participants are encouraged to sign up to be DF/HCC Student Program Mentors during Summer 2020
The three-part curriculum will provide mentorship training in the following areas:
April 23 - Introduction to Mentoring and Aligning Expectations
April 30 - Creating and Implementing Effective Short-Term Research Projects for Research Mentees
June 30 - Assessing and Maintaining Effective Communication with Research Mentees
Participants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to commit to attending all three sessions.
Sponsored by the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows
