DataFest is held during J-term and developed by data practitioners and researchers from across the university. Hosted by the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS), the purpose of the bootcamp is for participants to develop skills in working with data. It is offered to faculty, post-doctorates, graduate and undergraduate students, and staff at Harvard University.
This year, DataFest will occur virtually over four days, with an opening Keynote by Latanya Sweeney.
The bootcamp will provide support to participants as they develop their own research project focusing on COVID-19. Each day will cover key parts of the research data lifecycle (data acquisition, cleaning, visualization, analysis, and dissemination) and highlight best practices.
DataFest is a collaborative effort by IQSS and several other Harvard institutions.
