Mentor Training Program for Postdocs and Grad Students
Description: Independent research projects can vary in range and scope during research experiences depending on individual research expertise, time constraints, and overall research experience goals. In this workshop, participants will discuss individual and group goals for the summer research experience and design an effective short-term research project for their mentees.
Participants are encouraged to sign up to be DF/HCC Student Program Mentors during Summer 2020
The three-part curriculum will provide mentorship training in the following areas:
April 23 - Introduction to Mentoring and Aligning Expectations
April 30 - Creating and Implementing Effective Short-Term Research Projects for Research Mentees
June 30 - Assessing and Maintaining Effective Communication with Research Mentees
Participants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to commit to attending all three sessions.
