Mentor Training Series: Exploring Scientific Identity Development

Description: The DF/HCC CURE and UMass Boston U54 REC Programs will be hosting a series of workshops focused on mentorship development and shared practice for current, past and prospective mentors. This is a six-part workshop series, running Nov. 2020-May 2021. We encourage you to attend all workshops in this series.
This series is co-sponsored by the HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows.

In this session participants will participate in an active dialogue alongside featured speaker Dr. Yvon Woappi of Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
By the end of the session participants will be able to
1) identify concrete strategies for cultivating scientific identity development and fostering a sense of belonging among research mentees;
2) discuss the role of mentorship in the development of scientific identity and self-efficacy; and
3) be able to engage in conversations about inclusive scientific identity development with mentees and foster a sense of belonging
