Speaker: Lauren Celano, MBA, Founder and CEO, Propel Careers
Description: How to Evaluate, Build, and Highlight Transferable Skills
How do you know what hard skills and soft skills are needed for roles that you want to apply to? How should you describe your skills and experiences so that readers of your application materials can see these easily?
This talk will provide advice for how to decipher job descriptions so that you can understand which skills are needed (that you have) and which ones you may need to build. We will then provide examples for how to highlight these skills and experiences in your application materials and during interviews. Through this talk, Propel will highlight common non-scientific skills that scientists can build while performing research and also will show ways to apply these to their desired career.
