Workshop Description: Beyond the bench: The business of running a lab
This seminar covers the various responsibilities in addition to benchwork, in order to run a successful lab. These include managing and initiating collaborations, hiring, leading and training people, managing budgets, identifying funding, setting the culture of the lab, managing resources effectively and other topics. This seminar will discuss how to build these skills during graduate school and a postdoctoral fellowship to help ensure success in a PI role.
Speaker Bio: Lauren Celano is the co-founder and CEO of Propel Careers, a life science search and career development firm focused on connecting talented individuals with entrepreneurial life sciences companies.
